Wwlp.com reported in March of 2011 that there was a drug raid in The Flats and Holyoke Police Department with federal agents seized three guns and thousands of dollars worth of drugs.  Holyoke Police Chief Anthony Scott gave the information that a 31 year old male and a 35 year old female were both arrested in this raid.  Scott said, “351 baggies of heroin with a street value of $3,510, 2.5 grams of cocaine with a street value of $200, and 56 pills were seized in the raid.  Weapons found in the raid were a Marlin .22 semi-automatic rifle, a .32 caliber Colt revolver, a Taurus .9mm semi-automatic handgun, 38 rounds of ammunition, and three large knives.  Also seized was more than $1,000 in cash, a cell phone, and two digital scales.”  Both of these suspects were being held on $50,000 bail for numerous charges, including drug possession, conspiracy to violate drug law, using a firearm in a felony, receiving stolen property and possession of a large capacity weapon or feeding device. Let’s hope that the folks whom these criminals got hooked on dangerous substances got help at one of the local Waltham drug rehabs.

Wggb.com reported in March of 2012 that a 32 year old was taken into custody and it turned out to be the brother of an official of Holyoke.  He was arrested after an officer pulled him over for a traffic violation and found illegal drugs in his possession.  Police LT. M. Patenaude said, “The officer found a few bags with heroin residue and the drugs Suboxone and cyclobenzaprine, of which he did not have a prescription for.”  He was also charged with having a suspended license.

Even though Holyoke is a small town in this USA it has its own trouble with drugs.  Drugs hit all of us.  It doesn’t matter if you are a part of the elite or the not well to do.  Drugs don’t care they hurt you any way.  If you know someone who wants to get off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or one of the heroin rehabs where they can get safe and natural ways to detox and withdraw.  Something can be done about it.
