What Exactly Is Heroin Withdrawal?

Many people have heard of heroin withdrawal. They have heard of how terrified addicts are of going without heroin, but most people do not know exactly what heroin withdrawal is.

Heroin withdrawal occurs when a person who is addicted to the drug does not have immediate access to heroin. This can occur a few hours or 24 hours from the last use.

When a person is going through heroin withdrawals they will experience the following; nausea, vomiting, body aches, muscle cramps, hot and cold sweats, insomnia, depression, anxiety, irritability, severe cravings and diareah.

Withdrawal symptoms prevent a heroin addict from ever getting away from the drug. They eventually end up getting so scared of the withdrawal symptoms that they refuse to ever “kick” the habit.

The only real way to handle a heroin addiction is to enroll in a long-term, drug and alcohol rehab. One such rehab that is considered a leader in rehabilitation, is Narconon Louisiana.

If you or anyone you know is in need of help for drug abuse problem please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

While waiting for the school bus on Wednesday morning a first grade boy found what he thought to be candy. It was, in fact, heroin – $1,400 worth of heroin. Officials believe that the heroin was placed there by a drug dealer to be picked up by another drug dealer. The spot was merely  a “drop spot”.

Heroin Addiction Drove Man To Murder

Jason Russell Richardson will soon hear his fate after jurors decide if he should receive the death sentence for murdering a Home Depot manager. Richardson was born to a mother who was a heroin addict and lived with his grandmother who was also addicted to drugs. His addiction brought him to the Home Depot where he was planning to rob the store. In the chaos Richardson shot the night manager who was trying to protect his employees.

Heroin addiction will drive a person to things they never thought they were capable of. One of the main reasons for this is because of the intense withdrawal symptoms a person will experience when coming off of the drug. Withdrawal symptoms from heroin include vomiting, nausea, sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, body aches, chills, hot and cold sweats. In fact, these withdrawal symptoms are so severe that often times addicts would rather continue to be addicted than seek help.

The only real way to handle a heroin addiction is to enroll in a drug and alcohol rehab. If you or anyone you know is in need of help please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

New Form of Heroin Marketed Towards Teens

In the lst two years there have been 21 deaths among teenagers because of their addiction to “cheese”. “Cheese” is a combination of Mexican black tar and crushed over-the-counter pills like Tyleno P.M.s. Drug dealers are marketing this deadly form of heroin to teens who are more likely to experiment with something that they can snort rather than inject. Another reason why this drug is so temting to teens is because it is so cheap. Children can purchase a gram of cheese for as little as $10.

Unfortunately teens seem to be embracing this new drug trend. Recently, during a drug ed lecture given to an auditorium full of middle school children, ther presenter explained that the United States has the most drug users in the world – that comment was met with applause and cheering.

The only way to save these children is to enroll them in a long-term, effective drug rehab. While they may think that they are not heroin addicts, because they’re using “cheese”. The reality is that they are heroin addicts and they will eventually begin to use purer forms of heroin, possibly through a needle. For those who are currently struggling with a heroin addiction, they can attest to the fact that in the beginning they thought they had their habits under control.

If you or anyone you know is in need of help for a drug or alcohol addiction please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

Prison Not The Best Solution For Heroin Addicts

Heroin addiction goes hand in hand with crime. While bags of heroin are relatively cheap, usually $10/bag, a person’s habit often times skyrockets very quickly and they end up having to spend over $100/day. Heroin addiction also makes it hard for people to work. This is mostly because heroin withdrawals are so great that it makes it almost impossible to function in a normal environment. The withdrawal symptoms from heroin include; bone aches, insomnia, vomiting, nausea, hot and cold flashes, chills and sweating. One way that heroin addicts have found to fend off those withdrawal symptoms is to steal or commit other crimes in order to obtain the drug.

As most people would assume, a person who is constantly involved in illegal activities will end up in jail but is that really the best solution? While jail handles the immediate threat of more crimes being committed, it does not handle the person’s addiction. In fact, most people begin using either in jail, or as soon as they get released.

The only real way to handle a drug and alcohol addiction is to enroll in a longterm, drug rehab. If you or anyone you know is in need of help please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

Heroin Hits Suburbia

Heroin addiction, once considered a drug used by older people in dark ally ways has found a new market, suburbia. Not only has it creeped its way into middle America, but the average user is too young to drive.

Young teens across the country have ditched their Twilight books in favor of stamp bags filled with heroin bearing the stamp of the Twilight movies, another marketing ploy by Mexican and Columbian Drug Trafficking Organizations to appeal to younger consumers.

While officials have noticed the increase in teen heroin abuse, parents are a little slower to catch on. While it’s easy to remember back when you were a kid and the kinds of drugs that were available and the kinds of drugs your friends were using, that is quite different now. Instead of sneaking off to smoke marijuana, kids are sneaking off to do a shot of heroin.

If you or anyone you know is in need of help for a drug or alcohol addiction please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.
