Heroin and Fentanyl is a Deadly Combination

Heroin laced with fentanyl is often times a lethal combination. Fentanyl is most often used by doctors for anesthesia or pain management in cancer patients. Lately drug trafficking organizations have began mixing heroin with fentanyl to improve the potency of the heroin. However, this new mix of heroin is providing more than a good buzz, it’s killing its users.

A recent news story involving a heroin addict in search of a better high has caught the attention of many people – because what they are seeing is the limitless lengths drug and alcohol addiction will take someone.

In 2008, scrub tech Kristen Parker was caught with needles in her pocket. She was fired immediately. What investigators later found out was that she had been stealing fentanyl filled needles, injecting them, and replacing the used needles back on the carts for patients to use. In addition to this, Parker was positive for Hepatitis C. It is suspected that at least 35 patients have been infected by Hepatitis C from using the dirty needles left behind by Kristen Parker.

Effective rehab for heroin addiction would have prevented this tragedy from ever occurring. If you or anyone you know is in need of help please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650.
