New York Pamphlets Aid Users – Not Help Them

A pamphlet aimed at intravenous heroin addicts that is distributed in New York is raising questions regarding its intention and effectiveness.

The pamphlet is a guide to injecting “safely”, although some people view it as a how-to guide. Readers get tips on what the best way to shoot up is without collapsing veins, how to use a cotton in the cooker – things that make injecting heroin easier and almost normal or ok.

In reality, heroin abuse kills almost 600 people a year in New York and is an epidemic spreading across the country. A how-to guide is not going to handle heroin addiction – an effective drug rehab program will. Instead of focusing our attention and money (New York tax payers paid $32,000.00 to print and distribute these pamphlets) on how to make users more comfortable, we need to focus our attention on getting individuals into rehab.

Rehabilitation for drug or alcohol addiction will save a person’s life. Rehabs like Narconon Louisiana make it possible for addicts to live the life they were always intended, not the life of addiction.

If you or anyone you know is in need of help please contact Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650.
